It's hard to believe that the awards season is already upon us! Hollywood's beautiful A-listers wowed us with some gorgeous red-carpet gowns last Sunday night at the 69th Annual Golden Globes Awards. This year, the awards ceremony, which is held at LA's prestigious Beverly Hilton Hotel, was filled with lots of winning looks and very few train wrecks!

The Globes are always a bit more relaxed and fun in comparison to the seriously formal and uptight Oscars.  Hollywood's stars tend to let their hair down at the Globes and just enjoy themselves.

The Good

Charlize Theron
Gorgeous Charlize blew everyone away in a breathtakingly divine blush toned silk chiffon gown by Dior Haute Couture. A red-carpet pro, this lady showed Hollywood how it's really done. The belted bow, sexy slit and fabulous gems supplied by Cartier all created a look that was an absolute showstopper.

Jessica Alba
Another star that opted for a pale, nude-toned dress was beautiful Jessica Alba. Her strapless, beaded Gucci dress featured a stunning train and fitted her immaculately. Her hair was chic and sophisticated and her Bulgari jewels were right on the money.

Emma Stone
Emma looked sultry in a burgundy chiffon Lanvin dress that featured racy slits, beaded shoulder details and waist cinched in with a fabulous eagle belt. This rising star can do no wrong!

Salma Hayek
The pint-sized Mexican actress looked super sexy in a black and gold beaded number by Gucci. Perfection!

Kate Winslet
Perennial red-carpet stunner Kate looked elegant and perfectly poised in a black and ivory Jenny Packham dress that had a keyhole detail at the bust. Kate knows what suits her body and always nails it on the red carpet.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole showed off her fantastic figure in a silver studded corset-like Versace gown with Fred Leighton jewels that never overpowered her look.

Angelina Jolie
Angelina also opted for a dress from Atelier Versace. The ivory satin sheath dress had a red accent on the bodice that bought attention to her beautiful face. The gown fitted her like a glove and highlighted her statuesque figure. Ange is Hollywood royalty: she looked regal, untouchable and even a bit scary!

The Bad

Lea Michele
The Glee star loves any chance of a photo opportunity and loves the red carpet but does it always love her? In this case, no! The pewter silver Marchesa gown Lea wore had risqué cut outs and yet just looked frumpy on her. The whole look was very 80's and in a bad way!

Sarah Michelle Gellar
Apparently Sarah's two-year-old daughter choose her strapless blue and white dip-dyed Monique Lhuillier dress and it showed! It just looked wrong, wrong, wrong!

Michelle Williams
Maybe it has something to do with the name Michelle? Michelle Williams often makes extremely bizarre choices when it comes to dressing for the red- carpet and yet again she continued in this vein! The 3/4 length sleeved purple-blue velvet Jason Wu gown that featured cut outs just didn't work. The vintage Fred Leighton headband was a cute touch but that was about it. This was a red carpet fizzler.

All in all though there were many great red-carpet choices seen at the Globes this year. Roll on the Oscars!
